
Carole Kenner, DNS, RNC-NIC, FAAN has over 20
years neonatal/perinatal/pediatric experience. She has taught for 18
years, and developed masters level programs in the United
States and abroad. She has lectured in over 20 countries. Dr. Kenner has
published over 100 journal articles, CE modules, and book chapters. She
is the author/editor of many textbooks and is a four time winner of
publishing awards including the AJN Book of the Year. She has received
numerous nursing awards for her writing, educational expertise, and
leadership skills. Dr. Kenner is past President of the National
Association of Neonatal Nurses and the Foundation for Neonatal Research
and Education. She has served as a Department Head and President of two
nursing companies.
She also acted as the Principal Investigator for a multidisciplinary 5 year CDC funded Fetal Alcohol Syndrome prevention grant as well as other federally funded research and training grants. Dr. Kenner has served as the Director for the Center for International Affairs at the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing.
Dr. Kenner was also Principal Investigator of a NIH ELSI funded grant on Web Based Genetic Education for Health Professionals.
Anita Finkelman, MSN, RN has 35 plus years
of experience in nursing. In addition to serving as a nurse consultant,
she also currently serves as Adjunct Faculty at University of Oklahoma
College of Nursing. Previously, she has been Sr. Vice President for
Nursing Operations at Orbis Education, Inc., a distance education
development company and served as Director of Undergraduate Curriculum
and Associate Professor/Clinical Nursing at the University of
Cincinnati College of Nursing. She has a masters degree in
psychiatric-mental health nursing from Yale University and post-masters
graduate work in healthcare policy and administration from George
Washington University. Additional work in the area of health policy was
completed as a fellow of the Health Policy Institute, George Mason
University.
Ms. Finkelman's nursing experience includes clinical,
educational, and administrative
positions. She has authored many books, journal articles, and
lectured on administration,
health policy, continuing education, and mental health/behavioral health
nursing, both
nationally and internationally
and served as a consultant to publishers and health care organizations
in areas of distance education and development of products for use on
the Internet. Recent textbook publications include Leadership and
Management for Nurses (2006), Managed Care: A Nursing Perspective
(2001) and case studies in Critical Thinking in Nursing: Case Studies
Across the Continuum (C. Green, Ed., 1999), Prentice Hall, Inc. as
well as number of books on psychiatric-mental health nursing
(administration, clinical, and staff development) and serves as review
editor for mental health/behavior health journals and home health
journals. She has experience in developing continuing education
departments, courses, conferences, and written material related to staff
development and continuing education and in assisting healthcare
organizations in program development and development of nurse management
staff. Ms. Finkelman has worked with education organizations in the
development of nursing and health science administration curricula and
also nurse management curricula.
Lisa Dwyer, MSN, RNC, CNS is the founder of Ladies in
Waiting®, an innovative,
evidence-based program which specializes in addressing and
meeting the unique needs of high-risk antepartum clients, particularly those confined to
bed rest at home or in the acute care setting. Through collaboration and team work this
creative, family-centered approach works to achieve the common goal of healthy
maternal-neonatal outcomes.
